Purpose of this site
This website and blog is meant to be a source of inspiration, a shared creative space, and a resource for educators. It is intended for all who work with young people and share a passion for the arts and social justice. Regardless of where and what ages you teach, I hope you find the artwork, stories, lessons, and other resources useful and inspirational.
About me
My name is Anne Garvey and I am an artist and educator in Northern California. I currently teach both Art and Social Advocacy to grades 9-12. Throughout my teaching career (so far) I have worked with children ages 18 months though 18 years old, in traditional school settings, through non-profits, locally and abroad. This website and its contents originated from a Masters in Teaching project at Saint Mary's College of California.
Share your ideas
This site is a collaborative effort and is fueled by the creative perspectives of a diverse community. If you have something to share, whether it be your own amazing lessons, pictures of your projects, or just a link to a relevant topic, visit the contact page and submit it for review!
